Better Every Day - January 9th
Do you think life is fair? Explain.
For a women, a mixed brown women in this world, in my perpsective the world is not fair.
Life in general for most is unfair though. There are some people where life is definitely fairer for though… some the opposite is true. But being a women, this is a mans world, everything benefits them at the end of the day. The world is so skewed to boost up men and cater to them that there societally is no right a women can do. It’s entirely set up on purpose to be unfair. When it comes to being a mom the most infuriating thing is guys will get told they’re such “great dads” for just doing the bare minimum thats expected of moms. Women today are expected to cook, clean, contribute to finances, and take care of the children, who does that cater to ? Men… society is set up as an ego boost for men.
Even women who appear more independent and are living against the grain of the expected societal women still cater to men. I have thought about this a lot, when I’m in my feminine energy and I’m dressing cute and handling business and I feel like a bad bitch I’m still seen as an object by men, they still have the societal preprogram that it’s for them and they feed off my energy instead of respecting it, sometimes they take advantage of it…
I believe majority of men today are emotionally stunted and are told to not be too emotional and to “act like a man” and told they can’t be “soft”. Its because of this preprogramming that I truly believe men are not taught they can be more in tune with their emotions in a healthy way, that they can be empathetic enough to acknowledge women as more than just objects or things to compete for. This societal norm is unfair for men and women…. men don’t know how to be emotional and vulnerable and if they are its usually too much (scrubs) so women are left with scrubs and emotionally unavailable men which means most women cater to men for any type of validation which overtime will turn to bitterness. A nasty cycle that leads both parties to be unsatisfied.
There are so many societal cycles like this that automatically make life unfair…
